A complete external power supply construction project was executed for the coal loading logistics center (TNALT) at Tavan Tolgoi coal mine in Umnugovi province. The facility has a capacity to process and load 20 million tonnes of coal per year and 3,500 tonnes per hour using world-class technology, playing a key role in reducing coal transport costs and environmentally responsible capacity expansion.
The scope of work included:
• Expansion of the 110/35/6 kV, 2×40 MVA Tsankhi substation 35 kV side by 2 complete cells
• Installation of a double-circuit 35 kV overhead transmission line
• 5 indoor 35 kV substations with control rooms
• Installation of 35/6 kV and 35/0.4 kV transformers
• Installation of Motor Control Centers (MCC) 2 and 3
• SCADA system fiber optic cable installation — 7,800 m total
• Supply and installation of 4,000 kVA, 3,150 kVA, and 2,500 kVA transformers
• Supply and installation of 2 complete E-houses
• Relay protection and SCADA system installation, testing, and commissioning
The complete construction of a fully automated indoor switchgear facility with 13 MVA total capacity ensured fully reliable power supply for the TNALT.
