A major two-phase project to upgrade the electrical equipment of the ore preparation section at Erdenet Plant’s copper concentrator was successfully completed.
In the first phase, the variable speed drive (VSD) and motor assembly for the autogenous grinding section were supplied. In the second phase, the electrical motor and variable frequency drive assembly for Mill No. 1 were supplied and replaced.
Equipment supplied and installed:
• Variable frequency drive transformer
• High-voltage synchronous motor 75 RPM (air-water cooled)
• Variable frequency drive ACS6000
• Excitation transformer and auxiliary equipment
• Intelligent automatic control system for automatic mill speed regulation based on grinding parameters
This upgrade significantly improved plant productivity, energy efficiency, and equipment reliability.
